THE Westcountry Game Fair took place at the Royal Bath & West Showground, Shepton Mallet, over the weekend of March 10 and 11 and, as always, the terrier and lurcher events attracted a fantastic turnout.

THE weather over the weekend of the Shugborough Game Fair was not the best but the hardy lurcher and terrier folk still turned out to Shugborough Hall, Milford, in their droves to compete in the first major event of 2012.
DORSET Lurcher Racing held a meet on Sunday, February 26, for which conditions started off misted by turned out perfect for racing.
A DAY of brilliant sunshine was welcomed by Whippet racers attending Worcester Whippet Racing Club's meet on Saturday, February 25.
WORCESTER Whippet Racing Club held a meet on February 18 and was attended by a good number of members, making for an enjoyable day of race training and trials. Ground conditions were good after a couple of weeks of the track having been frozen solid.
DORSET Lurcher Racing held a meet on Sunday, January 29, in which 12 new dogs/novices took part in the teaching sessions and fun runs that preceded the main racing events.
THE Southern Region on the Jack Russell Terrier Club held their Winter Show at Brinsbury Campus, West Sussex, on November 20, 2011.
OVER 50,000 spectators gathered in the grounds of Powerstown Park, Clonmel, over the days of January 30 and 31 and February 1 as the 2012 Irish National Coursing Meeting took place and attracted enthusiasts from within Ireland and many from abroad.
CREWKERNE Lurcher & Terrier Show held their first winter coursing event on Sunday, January 29. The day dawned cold and frosty but by 10am all whiteness had disappeared, leaving good racing conditions.
